Also, the 24-70 2.8 is about half the price of the RF 24-105L. Just due to 1.6x crop, I do think that something 16-35 might be something nice to think about. If you are leaning towards the 24-105L… maybe you might consider getting two lenses instead: 24-70 2.8 ($550) + Tokina Opera 16-28 2.8 ($400).
Everybody I have spoke to has said, the best lens to get is a Canon 24-70 II F2.8 as the best all round lens. However I have always thought I have quite a shaky hand, so started to consider the Canon 24-105 F4 II IS as this comes with the IS. Although reviews still seem to pit the 24-70 II higher!

I say go for the 24-70 2.8. Check Canon’s refurbished site. They have regular sales too. It’s a better lens than the 24-105 by a good margin if we are talking later editions. You can also get an ef-RF converter. In my use I found the mirrorless frames worked very well with ef lenses.
Walk around 24-105 rf is way better than the one it replaces and demonstrably better. I also have the 35mm rf which is the new nifty fifty, light and efficient, macros or whatever. 50mm 1.2 rf, my
